Day 13

Day 13 - Modern Tel Aviv rotation

After learning about Tel Aviv's history and the ideas it was founded on, today, MBI took a tour of Tel Aviv, learning about today’s complicated economic and social issues facing Israeli society. The day was split up into three stations. First they visited Kikar Rabin and heard about the story of Yitzhak Rabin’s assassination and the challenges Israel's democracy faces. Second they met with activists from the Combat Genocide Association who are fighting for the rights of refugees fleeing Darfur and other parts of Africa. Lastly they met with LGBT activists where they learned about their victories and the challenges the communities still faces.

The group is getting ready for Tnua Achot where they will be spending a few days with other kids their age from Hanoer Haoved and learning about Habonims sister youth movement.
