Tnua Achot (sister movement camp)

Good morning!

Yesterday MBI was divided up into smaller groups and spent a few hours visiting and getting to know hanoar haoved kenim in either Rishon Litzion or HodHashorn. Afterwards they went up north to the Eshbal seminar center. For dinner, they made poike pots, partnered with an Israeli peer. This is a type of stew made in a cast iron pot with vegetables and different sauces. After dinner they played a variety of name games and got ready to camp out under the stars in the Galil.

This weekend, the MBI group is going to Kibbutz Ravid in the north where they will be staying for a few days. Kibbutz Ravid is a kibbutz run by Habonim Dror’s Israeli sister youth movement, HaNoar HaOved ve’haLomed. It was founded in the 1990's by movement graduates, called members of Dror Yisrael, and is home to a seminar center that hosts HaNoar HaOved ve’haLomed youth and graduates from all over Israel all year round. And how fitting -- here, they will spend time with their Israeli peers from that youth movement! Even in the first day, there was singing, dancing, and lots of mingling! They will be spending Shabbat together, sharing how they celebrate Shabbat differently in Israel and in North America. They will also have a chance to share in peulot (activities and discussions) and chuggim (interest groups) together.

The Israeli participants in the seminar come from different kenim all over Israel. Each ken group joined with some of an MBI kvutza to create the groups that will last throughout the seminar.
